Friends. No, we're not talking about Facebook, we're talking about real friends - people who love what we do and want to support us beyond clicking a "like" button. The Hackney Podcast is run entirely by volunteers but there are some things that we do need some cash for. Almost everything you hear in the podcast is original - the reporting, the music, the production. We don’t need much, but a little will mean that we can do even more ambitious things - like properly commission the artists in the borough we want to work with as well as expand our amazing Hackney Hear phone app project.
We have therefore set up Friends of the Hackney Podcast which is £20 a year and gives you lots of exclusive Hackney Podcast goodies as well as invites to our events - exclusive preview trials for our Hackney Hear phone app, sound walks run by our director Francesca Panetta and our listening evenings.
